I Am Not Human
I am not human. I may look like it on the surface sometimes, but my face changes in certain light and I look different from every angle. Don’t be fooled by my shape: we are not the same underneath our skin. In the depths of my flesh, I am something wild and ancient, something… Continue reading

The Great Unknown
I never thought my life would make it this long, and that’s why my bones think I’m already dead, crackling as if the foundation of a world the Gods had enough of has come to crumbling. The moment a Titan exhales to blow out the flames before realizing how much has already burned. And grains… Continue reading

The Undoing
I’m turning to stone by the eyes of the witch, but the only eyes here are mine. Looking too closely for too long at my own design, focused on how other I am, my body no longer knows how to pretend to be human. Is this my skin turning into a cosmic egg to incubate… Continue reading

Autumn Whispers
The morning air whispers strongly of Autumn in my lungs. The Great impending Fall of all we no longer need. The return of moisture for the gift of breathing deeply, to smell the aromas of culminating soil and seeds, preparing for a grand sleep. The scents of raindrops caressing petals of plants who surrender their… Continue reading

The Missing Melody
Sometimes life feels wrong in every way.Discouragement and dwindling hope are like pieces that are too big for the puzzle, so they just take up space with no consideration to the garish view. And those clunky jagged things become the sun and sky.Meanwhile so many of us are in the same boat that the boat… Continue reading

The Hymn of the Mother
I want sing it all out of me. Some don’t like the speed, but I love the tone. Something reaping while bleeding that becomes something more. A lament for the dying who are not yet dead. A lullaby for the sleep walkers to find their beds. A whaling at the grieving wall. A gut wrenching… Continue reading

Tree Affinity
To be kin with the trees is to let their roots become your veins. Their branches, your limbs. Their leaves, your lungs. Their waters, your blood. The jungle air is moist on your skin, and you drink it in, every pore enlivened and awake, informed by all that lives. The sun is a gift your… Continue reading

Wild Like Me
It’s hard to reconcile being wild sometimes, the feral hunger. The seeking eyes, the instincts that lead one to survive. The shapeshifting in twilight when it’s dark enough to see more colors, and Iight enough to illuminate the way forward. Star-kissed riverbeds and spectral skies. Emerald trees and non-linear time. Magenta plumes and lavender moons.… Continue reading

Keepers of the Garden
The treasure of water in the air and in the green. The gift unseen but felt in a breath when the lungs open fully to receive it, or upon thirsty skin awaiting reprieve from heat. The plush forest rejoices when fire comes but does not catch, for moist plants are living instead of becoming kindling.… Continue reading
About Me
I wrote my first story when I was a wee girl of three, followed by my first poem when I was eight. I’ve been writing ever since as a way to cope with life. This practice evolved with learning in both structured settings and through the practice, itself. In my own healing crisis, I found a process I affectionately refer to as Poetic Alchemy. Now on the journey of getting my life back, I do this not only for myself but for you.
