Panther Heart
I don’t want to fight anymore. I’ve grown depleted from the push.I used to be a tiger, tenacious and hungry for the hunt, chasing shadows down until answers were found.Running after the Mystery like my survival depended upon that meal.I thought I was learning to be still like a lotus after the bloom, finding purpose… Continue reading

The Call of Fire
The fires drove us away when they raged and caged my breath. My family’s home in my lungs with buildings and machines, blood and bones, a million dead dreams and more. We could not have known what was in store for the forests of the world any more than the sea knew she’d be swallowing… Continue reading

The Will of a Whisper
Is everything crumbling around me, or is this merely my fear? Why do I feel at any momentall things could disappear?I endeavor to hold ontothat which I care about. But every day I seem to wakewith great mountains of doubt. As if I climb a steep incline with legs too week to stand. As if I… Continue reading

Mooncat
The battle for clarity in the land of projections continues its eon. Like a feline batting at red lights on the carpet, I have no need to win, but my instincts sure keep me busy chasing illusory things.I work so hard every day just to exist. It seems I can only rest alone. How long… Continue reading

A Greater Heart
I. It’s easy to have no regrets when you never look back. Avoiding photographs and sunshine. Keeping the albums closed. One lives for the future instead of the past. Always seeking to forsake the now, But accidents happen and the dusty old box is found in the attic of forgetting, right where Pandora left it,… Continue reading

The Language of the Wind
How I miss the wind when it kissed my skin softly in the sun. When it whipped my face as I lay on the roof of a boat gliding down the Amazon River the summer I woke up from a strange sleep. When it soothed me in Chennai when I had no brimmed hat but… Continue reading

The Silent Song
I had dreams bigger than my eyes when I was young, and my eyes were always bigger than my heart. Wonder for fuel, I reached for distant planets in my mind and found songs on the wind instead. I sang til my throat was raw in hopes that they would hear me, even through… Continue reading

Prayer of a Half-life
Untethered and weightless except for the pain. The Great Dissolution commences. Solid frames on walls flicker like a hologram. A haunting silent voice sings a lament for the slow death. Pieces of me I can’t see answer. Soon, they say. Soon will be time to let go. No one hears it but me, the symphony… Continue reading

How to Spot an Angel
Angels are the ones who see you with a sparkle in their eyes and a little extra wide smile. The ones who make just the right jokes to take tons of bricks off your chest. The ones who sometimes know what you need before you say it, giving you remembrance of humanity’s unity. And when… Continue reading

The Mantle
Where will we go, Love? To be held in caring arms and know we are not alone in all of this? My paralytic legs and shaking limbs, I become a mannequin filled with lead for you to carry, without the luxury of a silent mind and sealed lips. My skin still drinks your touch and… Continue reading

About Me
I wrote my first story when I was a wee girl of three, followed by my first poem when I was eight. I’ve been writing ever since as a way to cope with life. This practice evolved with learning in both structured settings and through the practice, itself. In my own healing crisis, I found a process I affectionately refer to as Poetic Alchemy. Now on the journey of getting my life back, I do this not only for myself but for you.
